Land Based Treatment Centre and Youth Detox Centre
At the North Superior Chiefs level I have been advocating for a Land Based Treatment Centre and a Youth Detox Centre. It is now on the agenda for the next meeting and I have buy in from the Deputy Grand Chief. Update = A resolution was passed this week to have Anishinabek Nation Tech Staff start work on this and to take the resolution up to the Chiefs of Ontario.
These centres would not be placed in urban centres but would be placed on the land somewhere but within reach of Medical Aid.
They would also be non coed. Male facility for detox would be separate from female.
